Jennifer Klassen

Jenny came to learn about ICYA during her time on a program called TREK run by mission organization Multiply. Through this discipleship training program, she spent time at ICYA helping with kids’ drop-in small groups throughout the pandemic while also serving at Living Word Temple. Through these two ministries she felt encouraged to continue working amongst inner city youth in an education setting. Jenny moved to Winnipeg in August 2021 from Saskatchewan where she was born and raised to start a job at ICYA.

Jenny began at ICYA working with Engage Education in the summer 2021 and in the fall of 2022 transitioned to Leadership Development, where she mentors and disciples’ teens interested in leadership and furthering their faith. Her favourite part of this role is the relationships made with the youth and providing them opportunities for deepening their love with Jesus. Highlights of working at ICYA have been taking youth to the SOAR conference, attending the youths sports and music events, camping trips with the Apprentice group and working together with staff and volunteers at the summer Block Party and Community Christmas Party.  In her spare time Jenny loves connecting with family and friends through movies, music, walks, food, ultimate frisbee, and such fun times!
